Goodbye to All That - www.goodbyetoallthat.co.uk - rehearsing their version of "Blasphemous Rumours" by Depeche Mode at Redbridge Studios and Rehearsal Rooms in Breightmet, Bolton, UK. At the time this was Depeche Mode's 12th UK single and their 1st Double A-Side, released on 29th October, 1984. This version, whilst still electronic in its creation substitutes the classic synth lines for instrument samples and blends simple piano with faint traces of cello, sax and acoustic guitar. It expands the blunted, despairing almost monotone of Dave Gahan's vocals with the pained melody of Nigel Robert's voice rising above the simple orchestration by Ian Dufton. Performed on the 12th June 2012, the song retains its power, it's story of two different girls simple, questioning... forever remaining music for a certain hour of night.
